Ankle Monitor Drama in “Plea,” Episode 4×22 of Revenge

Highlights from the beginning of the Episode: Stay Tuned for More!

“I’m not pleading guilty to anything!” Emily/ Amanda adamantly declares at her hearing at the beginning of the episode. When the judge awarded her house arrest and warned her of the harsh consequences that would come if she violated it, one would think that she’d be on her best behavior. Then one would remember that this is Emily/Amanda we’re talking about, and as Nolan recently put it, “Emily Thorne wasn’t built for good.” Ben called this one, the second Emily got an ankle monitor, she started dreaming up schemes to escape. With the help of Nolan and David, she briefly succeeded before landing herself back in prison. Let’s start off with Emily’s criminal behavior of leaving her house in clear violation of her house arrest. Despite David’s begging and attempt at being a strict father with rules, Emily quickly snuck out after receiving her monitor.

“They Don’t Allow Fireworks In Prison”: The Broken Laws in PLL 5×15, “Through A Glass, Darkly”

At the beginning of the episode, the girls attend Mona’s Hawaiian-themed funeral which takes place three months after her death. Her body hasn’t been found, but Mrs. Vanderwaal filled a casket with Mona’s keepsakes. She’s looking for closure, but Alison shows up to extend her supposed condolences and to insist that she had nothing to do with Mona’s murder. Mrs. Vanderwaal greets Ali with a loud slap in the face. It’s the kind of slap that I almost don’t want to write about because Ali deserved it so much, yet it’s still against the law.

Kill me, Kill me, Kill me… Puppy Dog… Broken Laws in How To Get Away With Murder 1×09

In the mid-season finale of How To Get Away With Murder, we finally found out the answer to the question we’ve had since day one, who killed Sam! It turns out that Wes, “the puppy dog,” did it with a little help from his friends. Sam definitely didn’t go down without a big fight, though! Now, it’s time for the broken law breakdown.

Since Sam has the least time as a living character in this episode, we’ll begin with him. The episode starts with Sam having an epic argument with Annalise, both of them coming up with the worst possible insults. Insulting your spouse and screaming that she’s a vile piece of ass may not be against the law, but Sam takes it way too far when he violently grabs Annalise by the neck and begins to choke her.

Illegal, Crazy Sibling Rivalry – Broken Laws + Recap of Revenge 4×02- Disclosure

Note, this entry will contain references to relevant broken laws in prior episodes that I have not covered yet.

In the second episode of season 4 of Revenge, “Disclosure,” David Clarke and Victoria reunite officially; this time Victoria is actually conscious, at least after the nightmare she has about David strangling her. Back from the “dead” for just a few short days and David Clarke is already breaking the law.

Broken Law # 1 Alert! (From Episode 4×01)

At the end of episode 4×01, we saw David sneak up behind Victoria and abduct her. No matter how many people may dislike Victoria, David still had no permission to behave this way.

Oh What Fun To Kill Someone And End Up In Jail- Broken Laws+ Recap of Episode 1×01 of How To Get Away With Murder

In the pilot of “How To Get Away With Murder,” an intense criminal law professor, Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), selects five of her first-year students to work at her law firm, because it’s so realistic for first year students to get thrown into murder trials instead of working on their appellate briefs. The episode begins in a 3 month flash-forward involving only four out of those five students, debating what to do in a horrific situation. They’re stuck with a dead body to get rid of and a murder weapon which they decide to clean and hide in plain sight. All of this occurs in the first minute of the show. We’re left wondering where the fifth student, Asher Millstone (Matt McGorry) AKA doucheface, is for the murderous flash-forward.

We’re clearly not supposed to be privy to the entire scenario yet. To quote another one of the students, Laurel Castillo (Karla Souza), “This is murder… None of us know what we’re talking about!” This becomes abundantly clear when Wes Gibbons (Alfred Enoch) flips a coin to decide what the group will do with the mysterious dead body. What we do know so far is that the other two students, Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee) and Michaela Pratt (Aja Naomi King), are clearly butting heads about how to handle this butchering of the law.

**IMPORTANT NOTE: Clearly there has been a murder here, and these students are involved in some way, whether they’re perpetrators or accessories, but I only explore crimes when we know the exact circumstances surrounding them. I will cover this when we find out more. Please do not take this to mean that murder is okay.

The Silence Of E. Lamb, Where Is That Man? (Rhyming Recap of PLL 5×07)

As I mentioned, PLL did not have enough broken laws tonight for me to cover in a recap. When that happens, I do a creative type of recap instead. The following is a rhyming recap of  Pretty Little Liars episode 5×07, “The Silence of E. Lamb.” Stay tuned for a PLL criminal rap sheet coming up soon!
